My son has avoidance issues with my camera (I don't blame him--I can be annoying with it!) I was trying to be sneaky, and shot into a mirror to get this shot. He lounged back onto the sofa at the last minute. I love how he's hiding without realizing it.

Camera Info
Most of these have been shot with a Nikon D200. I have two lenses--the 18-135mm kit lens and a 50mm 1.8. I also occasionally use a Canon Powershot A540 point and shoot. (And a few of them are camera phone pictures!)

LOL your son and my son have something in common! Mine usually just puts his hand in front of his face LOL (he is almost 4...)
That's a really great shot for a mirror shot! I mean, you can't even tell. A lot of times there is some distortion but this looks great! So funny about your son. My kids are all just the opposite. They fight for who gets to have their picture taken!
I knew he was camera shy the second I saw it...even when he wasn't trying to be. My son is quite elusive too. But when I give up he says' "no, no. Take my picture". In a mirror, you say?? Very sharp. I've done that driving (as a passenger LOL) down the road in the rear-view mirrors.Neat effects
Love the story behind the shot! My daughter has to be "paid" to model for me now since she is so tired of doing it!
Fantastic mirror shot! I would never have known if you hadn't said that it was. I just tell my kids the sooner they let me take a picture the sooner I will be done. It has to be a nice picture of them ... no cheesy smiles. Works great for me :0)
I have the same problem! Must be a teenager thing.
It made me smile to hear how common my elusive kid is. Our mirror must be pretty distortion free--I was surprised that the photo didn't look "mirror like," because my mirror shots usually LOOK like mirror shots. :)
I have a series of pics of my son. Pic one he's giving me a dirty look because I'm taking his pic. Pic two he's crying his head off, mouth wide open because I took the pic. Geeez at 4 and he was already tired of Mom taking his pic. Maybe it's just boys.
